The evidence is clear. If applied correctly and carefully, coffee by itself can help you lose weight.
Consuming coffee for weight loss is possible and does work on its own by triggering thermogenesis, but it will work best with exercise and a good diet.
You should drink coffee that is low in calories. If you add whole milk or cream with lots of fat and drink 3 to 4 cups daily, you will be adding a lot of extra calories, defeating the whole purpose of trying to lose weight.
Listen to your body, it will tell you if you are drinking too much coffee. If you get any sort of uncomfortable symptoms, simply cut back on your intake.
