Virus Immunity: 5 Ways To Strengthen It (Science-Based)

Virus immunity is the immune system’s ability to identify, react to, safeguard against, offset the spread, and inhibit replication of viruses when they invade the body and to destroy them.

We are presently in a viral pandemic that began around December 2019. It appears that COVID-19, e new and unknown coronavirus, has taken over the world.

This article is not only about protecting oneself from COVID-19 but from all viral respiratory viruses.

Over millennia, our immune systems have developed a network of antiviral methods and various immunological tactics to protect us from infection.

However, viruses seem to have gotten smarter and found ways to invade our cells undetected, set up headquarters there, multiply by using our genetic material, and eventually make us sick.

Virus infection is an invasion. The immune system prepares for war as soon as it identifies the invading virus.

Here are five ways to add artillery to your immune system’s arsenal to strengthen virus immunity.

5 Ways To Strengthen Virus Immunity

Whey Protein

Whey protein contains particular amino acids that can boost glutathione (GSH) levels in your body. GSH is a potent immunomodulator and antioxidant.

When you get sick, GSH levels decrease dramatically due to the stress your body is under.  Whey protein contains the appropriate amino acids (cysteine and glutamate) to increase GSH levels, which will help you fight off illness.

Whey protein also contains immunoglobulins (antibodies) A, M, and C – See Table 1

Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is found in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. It is the first line of defense when a virus enters your nose, eyes, or throat. IgA is essential to virus immunity. Whey protein can provide you with extra IgA.

Furthermore, whey protein and GSH are presently being experimented in a clinical trial to fight against COVID-19.

Whey protein is as real as it gets. Scientists believe it now, and so did Hippocrates (the father of modern medicine) over 2,000 years ago.

Bovine Colostrum

Bovine colostrum is an incredible source of immunoglobulins A (IgA) and G (IgG). Both are essential to your immune system. As mentioned above, IgA is the primary protector of your respiratory tract when a virus invades it.

When you are deficient in IgA, you will be more prone to getting repeated infections, particularly sinus, lung, and digestive conditions.

IgG is the most abundant antibody found naturally in your body. It makes up about 75% of your total antibodies, and they are vital in fighting viral infections.

The most abundant antibody found in bovine colostrum is IgG, then followed by IgA, making it an incredible source to get potent antibodies to help you ward off viruses.

Studies have shown that bovine colostrum is effective against respiratory viruses.

Scientists have also hailed bovine colostrum as one of the most potent natural substances to prevent the flu

It also contains other immune-boosting substances, such as lactoferrin, transfer factors, polypeptides (which promote T-cells), vitamins, minerals, and much more to heal and cure.

If you plan to use bovine colostrum, look for the cold-processed that comes from pesticide and hormone-free certified organic dairy cattle, and includes no less than 15% immunoglobulins with at least 40% IgG content.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a bacteria found in blue-green algae. It is scientifically proven to boost viral immunity in humans.

There is scientific evidence that it can fight many flu viruses strains, including the strains that are resistant to oseltamivir (Tamiflu) medication.

In a scientific Abstract published in January 2020 it stated the following:

  • “It is a powerful dietary supplement wealthy in nutrients and vitamins used by National Aeronautics and Space Administration and European Space Agency as a food supplement during space missions and capable of fighting against multiple microbial illnesses by enhancing immunity. Spirulina exhibits anticancer, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and many other activities…”

very recent journal (April – June 2020 issue) stated that spirulina enhances humans’ immunity to help fight viral infections.

Spirulina stimulates the mucosal and systemic immune system’s workings as it triggers the innate immune system cells. It speeds up the creation of “macrophages, T-cells, and B-cells.” (This trio are immune system components that go out and destroy invaders that can make you sick).

The journal also states that spirulina produces a high amount of Natural killer Cells, interferons, and much more. These compounds are what kills or stops the replication of harmful viruses.

Cordyceps (Cordyceps Sinensis)

Cordyceps origin is Tibet. It is a potent mushroom used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It is also considered an adaptogen, and for this reason, it helps to regulate—not stimulate—your body’s immune system.

This means it can stimulate a weakened immune system or calm it down when it gets overstimulated. The result is that it can fight viruses and stop an excessive inflammatory reaction by your immune system, which can harm or even kill you if the inflammation runs wild.

One study confirmed that cordyceps enhances the immune system by increasing Natural Killer Cells (NK Cells) activity.

NK Cells have been proven to be a significant key factor in fighting viral infections.

Other primary medicinal actions of Cordyceps Sinensis are for:

  • The hepatic (liver) system
  • The renal (kidneys) system
  • The Cardiovascular system
  • The Immune System
  • It is anticancer

This fungus is so potent that it also had a beneficial effect in treating fatigue, cough, hyposexuality, and asthenia (physical weakness or lack of energy) after a severe illness.

Cordyceps can also increase CD4+ and CD8+ cells. These are T cells that play a significant role in fighting viruses.

Cordyceps can stimulate and regulate different parts of your immune system to keep viruses from replicating and making you sick.

It is safe even in the high dosages necessary to improve viral immunity. The average dosage is 500-1,000 mg daily.

Acemannan

Acemannan is a compound found in the Aloe Vera plant. Originally from Africa, but now found worldwide, there are more than 200 known varieties of aloe.

The raw gel found inside this plant has been used since the Egyptians’ time to treat burns and cuts, and in India for intestinal infections and constipation.

Research has shown that acemannan is an immune-enhancer that can increase the immune response to an antigen (a toxin or other foreign substance that provokes an immune response in the body) and inhibits viral replication.

In other words, it will help your immune system either kill a virus, bacteria, fungus, etc. that is trying to make you sick or stop viruses from spreading further throughout your body.

Acemannan has been proven to inhibit the flu virus and to fight many other viruses.

Acemannan is so beneficial to immunity that two prescription drugs have been developed from it:

  • Carrisyn – is used to fight aids.
  • Carravet – for veterinary use for managing wounds for horses, dogs, cats, and other companion animals.

Many scientific studies show the immunomodulatory effects of acemannan. It can effectively regulate the immune system and can stimulate white blood cell counts. I will strengthen your virus immunity.

Summary

The above five substances are natural and ordinarily safe. Before taking any of them, please consult with your doctor to determine if you may have a condition that may negatively interact with them.

Viruses can attack by surprise. Using any of these five immune-regulators will keep your virus immunity at optimal levels and ready to fight any incoming viruses.
